Sail Shade Stucture - Adelaide Oval Bar Area
   
Following the recent upgrade to the Western Grandstand, the South Australian Cricket Association required shading for the new Bar Area and Terrace. The brief was to design and install a series of sail shades to provide shading for the bar area whilst maintaining the views across the parkland. Utilising 3D software Shadeform were able to model the shading footprint of the proposed shade structure for Client evaluation prior to manufacture.

The main engineering challenge was to
design and install columns with custom wall brackets so as not to conflict with the reinforcing and post tensioning systems within the main terrace slab.  The sails were installed to custom posts and specialist brackets to the bulkhead above the bar. The sails were designed with a mid-point connection to maximise shading for patron and staff of the new bar. 
 

Sail Shade structures are the perfect solution for most residential and commercial shading and all-weather applications.

Corradi Millenium, Seaview Downs

The owners of a stunning residence at Seaview Downs required a contemporary retractable solution to provide all-weather protection for their entertaining deck whilst maintaining the fantastic views. The solution would need to be functional whilst complementing the elegance of the Client’s home.
 
The Corradi Millenium is the ultimate in contemporary style and functionality with it’s all-weather retractable waterproof roof system and elegant twin post framework. The Millenium ‘tilted’ system was designed and installed to follow the roof pitch of the Client’s house. Tilted Corradi systems enable the installation of a retractable gutter which can channel rainwater into a down pipe concealed within the twin-post framework.

This Corradi Retractable Roof covers an area of 7.0m wide with an extension of 2.9m enabling outside entertaining in all weathers!! The remote controlled motorized system is designed to withstand strong winds, can be installed flat or tilted and is the only retractable system designed from the ground up to resist rain for the ultimate outdoor protection. It utilizes a PVC fabric that is durable and waterproof, and is designed with long lasting awning components to ensure the longest possible life with a minimum of maintenance.

Large Sails - Gillen Club & Eastide Club, Alice Springs

The Gillen and Eastide Clubs in Alice Springs are popular venues for local people to relax with family and have a membership base of over 11,600 people. The Clubs take pride in the facilities and services they provide to the local community and boast  large play areas with extensive play equipment and large jumping pillows. These excellent facilities can only be fully utilised if users are protected from solar UV throughout the day.


Shadeform were engaged to design, manufacture and install these eye catching and functional Sail shades. Using the latest 3D modelling software Shadeform were able to model the sails and provide an accurate shading footprint for the Client’s approval. Manufactured in vividly coloured Monotec 370 fabric, these sails provide essential UV protection to users of the play area and provide an aesthetically pleasing addition to the Gillen and Eastside Club facilities. The play areas can now be utilised throughout the day and all year round.

On The Run Cafe, North Terrace

The new 'On the Run' cafe occupies a fantastic location on North Terrace in front of the iconic Adelaide Railway Station building. The cafe has the use of an alfresco area to the street frontage, but this can only be only be fully utilised if protection from solar UV and wet weather can be provided. Shadeform were engaged to supply and install these stunning custom printed linked Umbrellas to the outdoor dining area.

Customers can now enjoy the cosmopolitan vibe of outdoor dining whilst the business gain valuable commercial space.

The Umbrellas feature a custom link panel to provide continuous waterproof protection between the Umbrellas giving valuable commercial space with year round protection. The Umbrellas are designed and engineered to resist high winds up to 100 mph, with triplex hot zinc and powdercoated framework, marine grade stainless steel components and edge wires and a fully waterproof canopy membrane.

Sarah Constructions Head Office

Sarah Constructions prestigious new head office is an eye-catching building in the suburb of Glen Osmond. The Architect for the scheme required a waterproof sail to provide shade and all-weather protection for a small outdoor area to be used by office employees during breaks. Shadeform were engaged to design, engineer, manufacture and install this Waterproof Hypar Sail Shade. The sail, which is supported by two posts and two connections to the office building, is manufactured from Ferrari Waterproof PCV fabric.

St Mary's College, Adelaide
The Client required two eye-catching and functional waterproof sails for the new Science and Technology Decks as part of the School upgrade. As part of the design team, along with the project Architect and Engineer, Shadeform were engaged to design, manufacture and install these stunning waterproof sails on behalf of the College.


The Sails cover a total area of nearly 200 square metres and are supported by columns with innovative Engineer designed stainless steel back stays.

The owners of this stunning residence in the Mitcham hills required a contemporary all-weather Shade solution to protect this spectacular entertaining deck. The Royal Hotel, Kensington - Flexshade Q14 Umbrellas with Link Panel

As part of continuing renovations and general upgrade of The Royal Hotel, Kensington, Shadeform were engaged to supply and install these two Q14 Centre Post Umbrellas. The Umbrellas feature a custom link panel to provide continuous waterproof protection between the Umbrellas. The total coverage of the units with link panel is approximately 37 sqm - this provides valuable commercial space with year round protection.

Adelaide Oval - Laguna Folding Arm Awnings

Shadeform have recently installed a series of Issey Laguna folding arm awnings at the Adelaide Oval. Following the recent upgrade to the Western Grandstand, the South Australian Cricket Association required retractable shade to protect the pavilion windows and cover part of the member’s area.

A series of 8 Issey Laguna motorized folding arm awnings were installed covering a width of 46 metres! A motion sensor unit was installed with each awning to enable automatic retraction if wind speeds pick up. The Laguna folding arm awning is ideal for your residential or commercial application.

Shadeform install Large Sail at Topcon’s SA Head Office

The Shadeform team have designed and installed this huge Sail at the Topcon South Australian headquarters.

The international precision agriculture company required an outside area to entertain Clients at their headquarters. An area to the side of the building was outlined for use as an Al Fresco terrace but required shading from the summer sun.

The solution - a large single sail shade structure - and at 230 square metres she’s a big one!!

The polyester mesh sail was designed and manufactured at the Adelaide factory before being installed over the new barbecue area by the Shadeform team. By creating a protected area to entertain clients, Topcon have created further valuable commercial space from a portion of land that was previously unused. Custom Eclipse Canopy at the Largs Pier Hotel


The Largs Pier Hotel has recently undergone a comprehensive programme of works involving the renovation of the Hotel and improvement to the dining areas. To the front of this historic Hotel is a large al fresco dining area with scenic sea views and endless summer sunsets. NEW PRODUCT - Introducing the new Flexshade Quartet 'C' - Curtain

Flexshade have released a new series of Umbrella structures – The Flexshade Quartet ‘C’ – Curtain.

The Curtain series is designed with either a cantilever side post or central column. The structure has provision for custom sized curtains and optional corner posts to enable zip type attachments.

The Quartet ‘C’ can be linked to provide flexibility of use with uninterrupted protection from the elements. The base structure is designed for winds of 160km/hr, and 120km/hr with side curtains in place.

Corradi All-Weather Retractable Roof

The Shadeform team installs the first Corradi Retractable Roof in South Australia!!

The Clients have undergone an extensive renovation programme at their residence and the Corradi System was the perfect solution for the paved terrace area. To suit the residence eaves height the Client opted for the Flat Corradi system. This features a trapezoidal cut allowing rainwater to drain to one end away from the house.  

This Corradi Retractable Roof covers an area of 8.5m by 3.8m enabling outside entertaining in all weathers!!

The remote controlled motorized system is designed to withstand strong winds, can be installed flat or tilted, and gutters can be installed to collect rain water and channel it to a down pipe. 


Corradi All-Weather Retractable Roof is the only retractable system designed from the ground up to resist rain for the ultimate outdoor protection. Large-Span Shaderunner

The Shadeform team installs custom large-span Shaderunner over new deck area.

A specially made Engineer- designed beam was installed to support this large-span Shaderunner which complements the contemporary design of this predominantly glass extension. The retractable design of the Shaderunner allows the Client to control the shading of this entertainment area enabling its use on the warmest of days.

As well as creating an individual and striking look to the deck, the Shaderunner reduces the need for cooling during the summer months by shading the glass façade.
